How do I get the money sent to my school?
Can I request an increase in my loan amount?
Yes, but you must first contact your school to determine what increase (if any) can be made.
If I don't need all of the money I borrowed, do I have to keep it?
No. You can return any portion of the funds back to your lender or school. The funds will be posted to your account as a payment and applied back to your principal. If you return the unwanted funds to your school, your school will return those funds to the lender.
Can I fax my application?
Your federal loan application must contain your original signature or your application must be signed online using an electronic signature.
I lost my original application. What should I do?
Can I request that my loan be disbursed sooner?
Your school determines your disbursement dates. We disburse loan funds on the dates the school specifies in its loan certification. Thus, you should contact your school with your request.
Have you received my application/promissory note?
It's easy to find out with Access Accounts. Simply click on the "Borrower Login" link under " Access Accounts" found on our home page. If you haven’t already done so, you'll be prompted to create a User ID and Password and then to click the "Log In" button.
Once you’ve signed on, a list of the loan(s) for which you've applied will appear. Follow the appropriate loan and you'll be able to verify whether we've received your application/promissory note.
When was my disbursement sent out?
To find out when we disbursed your loan funds, use Access Accounts or call our automated phone system at (877) 689-0763. Both services are available 24 hours a day.
To use Access Accounts, simply click on the "Borrower Login" link under " Access Accounts" found on our home page. If you haven’t already done so, you'll be prompted to create a User ID and Password.
Once you've signed on, a list of the loan(s) for which you've applied will appear. Click on the appropriate loan, and you'll see a list of scheduled disbursements for that loan. Schools may require additional processing time so you should check with your financial aid office for availability of funds.
My school says they haven't received my money, but the loan has been disbursed. What should I do?
Most likely this is due to a processing delay. You may need to allow time for mailing, processing of electronic transfers, and your school entering information from checks into their system. Schools may require additional processing time so you should continue to check with your financial aid office for availability of funds.
